My goal as a landscape and nature photographer is to discover, capture, and present the moods of Glacier National Park, Montana and other parts of the world that represent my emotions and experiences as I explore the beauty that surrounds me. Photography is my gateway into a world of incredible natural beauty and some moments that will never be recorded on camera. Through my camera, I more fully understand, appreciate and then share the value of these places I am so privileged to explore.
My process begins with a digital camera and a lens, but does not stop at merely freezing a single moment in time. I enjoy photographing scenes that take multiple seconds or even multiple hours. I transfer that vision to my work through the use of sophisticated "digital darkroom" processing techniques learned over years of experience which allow me to create the mood that I felt during the moment of capture. Some of these techniques involve blending multiple raw images of a scene, with varied exposure and/or focus, to overcome the camera's inability to "see" what I see. This process culminates in exquisite fine art prints that add beauty and character to homes and offices.
